Member management

Add, invite, import, claim, merge, enrich, and remove community members.

The People tab ("Profile roster") is where you manage your community's roster. It supports individual actions, bulk operations, and imports.

Reading the roster

A summary bar at the top shows clickable counts: total profiles and the profile slots used on your plan, internal profiles, claimable profiles, members, pending invitations, average completeness, duplicates (with a Merge All shortcut), invalid LinkedIn URLs, warnings, enrichment failures, and a few enrichment-coverage counters (missing classification, missing web research, eligible for LinkedIn enrichment, missing OpenAlex author).

Filters narrow the table by type (Members, Internal profiles, Archived, Pending Invitations), by quality (missing email or LinkedIn, duplicates, incomplete, enrichment failed, and so on), and by role; sort by name, completeness, join date, or last update.

Profile types

  • Members — claimed profiles: real people who have signed in.
  • Internal profiles — records you created or imported for people who haven't joined.
  • Claimable — internal profiles marked claimable against a real address (see Turning internal profiles into members); they become members the moment that person signs in with that email, whether or not an invitation email was sent.
  • Pending invitations — existing JOGL users you invited who haven't accepted yet.

Adding people

The roster's Actions menu offers:

  • Create profile — an internal profile for someone not yet on the platform.
  • Invite members — search existing JOGL users by name, pick Member or Admin, and send. The invitation arrives as a message they Accept or Decline; the dialog shows how many profile slots your plan has left.
  • Import CSV — the guided CSV import (mapping, review, execute).
  • Import LinkedIn Connections — upload your LinkedIn data-export archive.
  • Sync with CRM — pull people from Airtable, HelloAsso, or Odoo (see Integrations).
  • Send email… — email members from the platform, up to 500 recipients per send; a wider audience is refused rather than truncated.
  • Merge duplicate profiles — review auto-detected duplicates (matched on normalized name, email, or LinkedIn) and choose which field wins.

You can also share an invite link that never expires: anyone with the link who can sign in to JOGL Network can join (the link does not by itself create an account, so an unknown address still needs sign-up to be open). The link only works for a public community. The join page looks the community up under the same visibility rules as the directory, so a private community is invisible to someone who is not already a member and they see "Community not found" rather than a join button — invite them by name instead. Event guests come in through the Events tab rather than this menu.

Imports draw on your plan's profile capacity and, once the coverage gate is armed, require a live trial or plan: an import from a community whose plan has lapsed is refused with "This community's plan has lapsed, so it cannot import members…". The community, its members, and search keep working.

Turning internal profiles into members

  • Make member (per row, or Make member in the bulk toolbar) marks an internal profile claimable: "The member can claim it by logging in with <email>." Whether the person is emailed is up to the dialog's Send invitation email switch, which is off by default — leave it off and the profile becomes claimable with no notice sent.
  • Resend invitation email per row, or Resend invitations for every claimable profile at once.
  • Revert to internal profile undoes a claimable state.

When a member claims a profile, the community's data links to their real account.

Roles and ownership

Per row: Make Admin / Remove Admin, and Transfer Ownership (owner or platform admin only, to a claimed member). Guards prevent removing the last admin or owner.

Bulk actions

Select rows to open the bulk toolbar: Manage Tags, and under ActionsSend email (the same 500-recipient cap as the roster action above), Smart Enrich…, Add to event…, Make member, Transfer to another community…, Resend invitations, Revert to internal profile, Reset Enrichment — plus Remove / Delete and Export CSV.

Removing people

  • Removing a claimed member from their row keeps their data: "Member removed. Their data has been preserved as an internal profile." The bulk Remove action does not: it drops the membership and the community's enrichment data for those members, with no internal-profile snapshot.
  • Deleting an internal or claimable profile removes it permanently. A profile that has been claimed cannot be hard-deleted.
  • Withdrawing a pending invitation just cancels it.

For a GDPR erasure that removes a member's data from a single community programmatically, see the API's community-scoped erasure.
