Event mode
Match with attendees, get a "For You" feed, and request meetings at events.
When a community runs an event — a conference, summit, or meetup — JOGL Network turns on event mode: an AI-curated networking experience scoped to that event's attendees. A Networking entry appears in the sidebar for the selected community.
The three tabs
An event's networking page has three tabs:
- Matches ("For You") — attendees worth meeting, driven by your saved event-scoped searches. Run a search scoped to the event's participants and its strong matches feed this tab.
- Participants — the full attendee directory you can browse.
- Meetings — your incoming requests, confirmed meetings, and outgoing requests. The first card on this tab is a switch, Let people at this event book a meeting with you: it opens your profile's Book a meeting availability to everyone attending this event, even if your general Who can book setting is more restrictive. It only widens access for this event; for it to produce bookable slots you still need bookings enabled and a weekly availability in Settings → Meetings (the card tells you when that's missing). Telling the event what you're looking for
The first time you open an event whose networking is open, a short AI interview asks what you hope to get out of it. Your answers are saved with your attendance for this event only (they do not change your profile) and immediately turned into an event-scoped search, so your Matches tab fills up right away. You can also type or dictate a search yourself with the composer's event scope set to the event.
Requesting a meeting
From a match or a participant, open Contact and choose Request meeting. You pick one of the event's networking slots, a topic, and a location type (from the meeting locations the organizer set up).
On the other side, incoming requests show up in the Meetings tab where you can Accept or Decline. Confirmed meetings show the time, the location, and AI-generated icebreakers to help you start the conversation.
On this page, starting searches and sending new meeting requests is possible only while the event is in its Networking Open phase. Before that the event is in preparation, and afterwards it is archived. Two things fall outside that gate. A request still pending when the event is archived can be accepted, declined, or cancelled from the Meetings tab; only new requests are blocked. And the event picker in Chats lists preparing and archived events too, so an event-scoped search started there runs while the event is Preparing, Networking Open or Archived — the restriction is a control on this page, not a rule the backend enforces. A draft event is the one exception: the picker never lists it.
Check-in status, when the organizer imports guests from Luma or Eventbrite, comes from the ticketing platform; there is nothing to scan in JOGL Network itself.
