Getting started
Sign in to JOGL Network, complete onboarding, and find your way around.
Who can sign in
JOGL Network is invitation-based by default. You can sign in if a community has invited you at your own address — a community invitation, an event import that carried your email, or a profile an admin explicitly made claimable. A plain CSV import is not enough on its own: it creates an internal record under a placeholder address, which an admin still has to turn into a claimable profile. Unless self-serve sign-up has been opened, signing in with an address the platform doesn't know shows a "registration is closed" message; ask the community that invited you which email they used, or email support@jogl.io.
Signing in
JOGL Network uses passwordless sign-in — there is no password to remember. Go to
my.jogl.network/auth and choose one of:
- Email code — enter your email address and tap Send verification code. You'll receive a 6-digit code by email; enter it to sign in.
- Google — sign in with your Google account.
- GitHub — sign in with your GitHub account.
2FA applies to the email-code path only. If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, signing in with an email code asks you for a second 6-digit code from your authenticator app. Signing in with Google or GitHub does not: the provider's own verification stands in for it, and the sign-in completes without a second factor. So enabling 2FA hardens your email-code login; it does not add a step to the provider buttons, and if either provider account is reachable by someone else, so is your JOGL account. You can set up 2FA (and save backup codes) in Settings → Account.
If a community created a profile for you before you joined and made it claimable at your address, signing in with that email claims it automatically — the community's data about you becomes yours to edit and control. A profile still marked internal sits under a placeholder address instead, so signing in does not find it; ask the community to make it claimable.
Onboarding
The first time you sign in you go through a short, skippable tour in five steps:
- Welcome — review your profile.
- Review your profile — a short interview that fills in gaps. How many questions you get depends on what is already known about you: it confirms your identity, then asks about your contact details, your LinkedIn URL and any publications that look like yours, skipping whichever of those do not apply. Correcting an answer adds a follow-up. It stops after at most eight turns either way, and you can skip it.
- Meet your assistant — pick a first question to run as a search.
- Your privacy — choose whether your profile is public, and who can see each contact detail.
- Stay connected — enable push notifications (you can do this later in Settings).
You can rerun the tour at any time from the profile menu (Onboarding tour).
The main areas
After signing in you land on Chats, the search home. The left sidebar carries:

The header shows the community scope picker (All my communities or one community) and a Messages button with your unread count. The profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar holds your credit balance, Profile, Settings, Language (English or French), Theme, help and feedback links, Get the app when the app can be installed, and Sign out.
