Invite people
Bring people into JOGL Network or into your communities with your own links, and earn referral credits.
Invite people gathers your personal invite links in one place: one to bring someone into JOGL Network, and one for each community you can invite people to. Everyone who joins through one of them is listed there, and their first steps can earn you referral credits.
Open it from Settings → Invite people, or from Invite people in your profile menu. While referral credits are on, the page is titled Invite people, earn credits and its header shows what you have Earned, what is On the way, and how much of the yearly limit you have used over the Last 12 months.
Inviting someone
Under Your personal link, Invite someone asks Where are you inviting them?
- To JOGL — for someone who is not in any of your communities. Your JOGL link opens a page saying you invited them, and Get started takes them to sign in or create an account, even while JOGL Network is open by invitation. Jojo then builds their profile, they import their network, and they can start a community of their own. Only verified members get this link: until your account is verified, the dialog says so instead.
- To one of your communities — pick the community, then share its link. What happens when someone opens it is explained under Invite links.
Your JOGL links can create up to 50 accounts between them. Make a new link turns the old one off at once, but the accounts made with it still count toward the 50; the dialog shows how many accounts your JOGL link has created. Someone who already has an account and opens your link is told it has nothing more to do.
Your links
Your links lists one link per community you can invite to: in a public community every member can invite, and in any community its admins can. Each line has a copy button, and See who joined opens that community's invite dialog. With more than six communities, a search box and Show all … links appear.
If no community lets you invite yet, the section says so and offers Browse communities. If your profile is archived, you cannot share links until you restore it in your account settings.
Your invitees
Your invitees lists the people you brought in: Joined JOGL with your link, Joined … with your link, or, when a community you pay for added them and they claimed the profile it prepared for them, Claimed their profile in …. Each person shows three steps: when they joined, their first search (or No search yet), and whether they subscribed to a plan (or Not subscribed). The page never shows which plan someone chose or what you earned from them.
When a person's profile is not visible to you, the line reads A member whose profile is not visible to you, and their steps after joining are not shown.
Referral credits
The page shows what each step is worth today. At the time of writing:
- Their first searches — 10 credits for you when the person runs their second search within 30 days of joining. For someone a community you pay for added, this reward waits until they subscribe to a plan, and lapses if they have not within 12 months.
- Monthly Pro or Organization plan — 100 credits for you and 50 for them, once they pay for a second month.
- Yearly Pro or Organization plan — up to 500 credits for you and 250 for them, when they pay for the year.
- On Plus, under Plus plan, timing and cap — 50 for you and 25 for them monthly, 100 and 50 yearly.
A subscription reward is never more than one month of that plan's credits on a monthly plan, or two months' on a yearly one, and theirs is half of yours. So a yearly plan under 250 credits a month pays less: 400 and 200 on a yearly Pro 200, 200 and 100 on a yearly Pro 100 or Org 100. A subscription counts only within 12 months of the person joining, and not when you pay for it yourself. Each reward is paid once per person: moving from a monthly to a yearly plan brings each share up to the yearly amount rather than adding it, and moving to a larger plan on the same billing cycle adds nothing.
The person you invited gets credits too: 5 credits as soon as they arrive through your link, valid for 30 days. They don't get them if your account is not verified yet, if a community already pays for their searches there, or past the number of newcomers your plan allows each month (10 on Free, 30 on a paid plan).
Some limits keep the program fair. Your share of a subscription arrives 30 days after their payment. First-search rewards are limited to 50 credits a month on Free and 150 on a paid plan, and you can earn up to 5,000 referral credits in any 12 months. If you are not verified yet, your first-search rewards wait until you are, for up to 60 days. A refunded payment cancels the reward it earned, and unusual patterns, such as many personal email addresses in one month or a shared card, are reviewed by JOGL before anything is paid. Referral credits expire: the newcomer's 5 credits after 30 days, a first-search reward after 60 days, and a subscription reward after 180 days. They appear as Referral credits among your credit sources on the Overview tab of Settings → Billing (see Plans and credits).
