Plans and credits
What credits are, what spends them, the personal plans, and where to see and add to your balance.
Joining communities, browsing, messaging and events are free on every plan. Credits pay for the AI work: searches, enrichment and AI interviews. This page explains your own credits and plans; for community and organization billing, see Billing.
Your balance
Your balance is on the credits card just below your name in your profile menu, with your plan's name; a Low tag appears under 50 credits. The card opens Settings → Billing, whose header shows your Credit balance, any credits on hold for in-flight operations, and the date your next credits expire. The tabs below it:
- Overview — where your credits come from (your plan, a trial, top-ups, Referral credits and so on), and, under Covered for you, any community or organization that pays for some of your searches.
- Plans — your plan and the plans you can choose, with their prices.
- Get credits — the Top-ups packs, and Need more credits? with Find my best deal, which works out the cheapest way to the credits you expect to need over the next year.
- History — what you spent, and on what.
What things cost, beside the tabs, lists what each action costs in credits.
What spends credits
At the time of writing:
- Fast search — 3 credits, plus 0.3 for the Web enrichment check that often goes with it.
- Deep search — 1.5 credits plus 3 per topic it searches, so 4.5 to 10.5 for one to three topics. Team composition adds 1 credit, and a Search follow-up costs 0.7.
- Self-enrichment — 1 credit to enrich your own profile.
- Event interview — 0.1 credit per reply the AI writes, in an event or a profile interview.
- Voice transcription — free.
The search composer's mode menu shows what Fast and Deep Search cost before you send. Your first search when you join, the one Jojo runs as you arrive, is on JOGL, and so is an event guest's first matching search; either way, only one per account.
Who pays depends on where you search. In a community, its owner or organization may cover your searches; a search across all your communities is paid from your own balance or from an organization where you hold a seat. Search explains how that is decided.
Personal plans
- Free — nothing to pay. Once your account is verified, you get 5 credits in the month it is verified, then each month after a month in which you used JOGL. They expire at the end of the month. You cannot own a community on Free.
- Plus — 60 credits a month, for searching regularly without a community of your own.
- Pro — from 100 credits a month (Pro 100) to 10,000 (Pro 10K), with communities of your own: up to 5 on Pro 100 and Pro 200, up to 10 on Pro 500, and as many as you like from Pro 1K up.
Paid plans are billed monthly or once a year. On a monthly plan, credits arrive each month and roll over for one month if unused. On a yearly Pro plan, you get the whole year's credits at once (1,200 on Pro 100), to spend whenever you need them until the end of that year; they don't roll over. Plus gets its credits month by month on yearly billing too.
Start free trial, on the Plans tab, gives you one 30-day trial per account: a card is saved and not charged, nothing renews on its own, and you get 250 credits, one community and up to 200 profiles in it. Unused trial credits expire when it ends. Organization plans are bought from an organization's own billing (see Billing), and prices are on the Plans tab and on the pricing page.
Credits when you arrive
If someone invited you through their link, you get 5 credits as soon as you arrive, valid for 30 days (see Invite people). If your account was verified by your invitation, for example because a community prepared your profile, your Free credits for that month arrive at once too.
Getting more
- Top up — buy a pack from Top-ups on the Get credits tab. Top-ups don't change your plan.
- Upgrade — choose a larger plan on the Plans tab. An upgrade applies at once and adds the extra credits for the rest of the period; a smaller plan starts at your next renewal.
- Invite people — your invitees' first searches and subscriptions earn you referral credits.
When you run out
Searches, Deep Search and chat messages need credits: when whoever pays for them cannot cover the cost, they don't run. A Not enough credits window then shows your balance with Top up credits, See plans or View billing & buy credits, and Find my best deal; when an organization or another account pays, it says whom to ask. Before you send a new search in a community, the composer warns you when whoever pays has nothing left: Your credit balance is empty. with Top up if you have a plan, otherwise Searches here use credits. with See plans. A global search with nothing left to pay from is blocked before you type: Jojo says so on a poster marked Searches paused, or, when Jojo is off or kept small, the composer says Global search needs credits; an open global conversation says New searches are paused (Search has the details). Enriching your own profile is refused the same way.
An interview is not stopped when you run out: its few credits are still counted. What blocks and what is only counted may change as billing rolls out, so check Settings → Billing for your live balance and the current prices.
