Private notes
Keep private, personal notes on the people you meet.
Private notes let you jot down personal notes about other members — like a CRM for your own network. A note is private to you: no one else, including the person you wrote it about, can see it.
Writing a note
From a member's profile, open Private note and write free-text notes about them. You can add multiple notes over time; they're shown newest-first, and you can edit or delete any note. Notes can be up to 10,000 characters each.
You can keep notes on anyone in the network, including people whose profiles haven't been claimed yet.
Private notes are personal data you control. Keep them factual and respectful — see Privacy & GDPR for how notes are handled in data exports and account deletion.
Optional AI structuring (off by default)
In Settings → Network notes, the AI structuring of notes switch lets JOGL Network read your notes and suggest structured facts (expertise, follow-ups, and so on) that you approve before anything is used. It is off by default — nothing is extracted unless you turn it on.
Sensitive categories of information are never used to influence search or recommendations, even when structuring is on.
When you delete
- Deleting a note also deletes any facts extracted from it.
- Deleting your account purges all of your private notes and preferences.
- Your data export includes your private notes, extracted facts, and preferences.
